” FIG JAM ”

Recipe for fig jam:
1 kilo of fresh fig
1 kilo of sugar
1 lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
1/2 of ground mazlakè
2 cup of water
Method
Wash figs and place them in a heavy pot
add the kilo of sugar and the 2cups of water
then add the cinnamon,cloves and mazlakè
in a little cotton sachet or you can use a clean
stocking and place the sachet in the pot and
cook on low heat for about 1 to 2 hours until the
syrup bubbles and thickens. To test the syrup take a
teaspoon of the syrup and place it on a saucer
leave to cool if the syrup is thick and gluggy
then the jam is ready.
