Kim Kardashian joins other celebrities to raise awareness for World AIDS Day Dec. 1, by shutting down their social networking sites until one million dollars is raised.
Kim Kardashian join celebrities including Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, and Elijah Wood to raise money for Alicia Keys’ charity, which helps families impacted by HIV/AIDS.
All of these celebrities have agreed to stop communicating via Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday, which is World AIDS Day until $1 million dollars is raised.
“It’s so important to shock you to the point of waking up,” Keys, who has 2.6 million Twitter followers stated. “It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that.”
The event is organized by Alicia Keys, who is the global ambassador for the charity.
